Director – Living Wage Employers Forum

In response to the economic crisis and current recession London Citizens and City Parochial Foundation are working in partnership to broaden and deepen the London Living Wage Campaign. The campaign aims to improve the lives of low-paid workers, by calling on employers to pay an hourly pay rate above the National Minimum Wage.

To date over £24 million has been channelled into the pockets of low paid workers as a result of this campaign and more than 100 employers have endorsed it, including Transport for London and Barclays. We now aim to strengthen the campaign, particularly focussing on the retail, hotel, higher education and public sectors. We also propose to establish a training and accreditation process which will support the growing number of employers now seeking to register as a ‘Living Wage Employer’.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and experience of similar Forums and accreditation schemes, social enterprise and fundraising; ability to relate well to senior management in the public and private sectors; well organised and able to perform under pressure.

CITIZENS for Sanctuary is seekinga talented and inspirational individual to be the Sanctuary Organiser, working with a rapidly developing alliance of civil society groups – mainly faith communities, trade union branches, refugee organisations and students in London and across the UK.  You will build, support and develop the people and teams in London and the nations and regions of the UK who will make CITIZENS for Sanctuary a successful national campaign, and produce trained leaders capable of acting together to bring positive change to the UK asylum system.
