South London Citizens was established in 2004 with 20 member organisations who pioneered a new approach to immigration through their Citizens Enquiry in to Lunar House. Today South London Citizens is working with 30 diverse institutions on a multi-issue agenda in the boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth, Croydon, Southwark, Lewisham and Greenwich.

The Lead Organiser for South London Citizens is Bernadette Farrell, who joined the organisation in November 2002 but has been active from its beginnings in East London. Joanna Purkis became an Organiser for South London Citizens in October 2007 after working as Press Officer for Strangers into Citizens in 2006.
